The Banana Brush was invented by mother of three and dental hygienist, Heather Phillips, who first got the idea for the Baby Banana Brush when her teething nephew fell on a plastic infant toothbrush and punctured the roof of his mouth. Shortly thereafter, when her own infant daughter tried using various toothbrushes as teethers, she could not find one that was safe yet effective. Phillips found features she liked in each infant toothbrush, such as flexible material, vibrant colors or a child-friendly grip. However, she could not find a single one that combined all the desired features into one. She decided to use her background as a dental hygienist to create exactly what she was looking for. "As a dental hygienist and a mother of three, I've found that to make brushing run at a young age is key to establishing good oral hygiene and preventing tooth decay."
