Q: What is a Cozy Cocoon?
A: The Cozy Cocoon is a one-piece baby body sock for swaddling newborns. Made of cotton knit fabric. Slip onto baby and it embraces the body with a stretchy cozy fabric that holds baby close but allows little arms and legs to stretch and explore naturally. Once on, there is no jerking, startling movement, no skin-irritating synthetic fabrics and little limbs can explore and stretch safely. They can kick and yawn while being held by the cocoon (and mommy or daddy!) which will always stretch back into shape. Cozy Cocoon's designer not only created this original baby cocoon swaddling but also coined the term for this unique simplistic swaddling: a "cocoon". With on-going design work on everyday layette items and unique designer styles, Cozy Cocoon is constantly developing new and unique products to beautify and simplify your new life with baby! If you’re not exactly skilled in the art of swaddling, this is the perfect solution.
Q: How does Cozy Cocoon updating the art of swaddling?
A: How many times have you witnessed the uncertain, jerking movements of a newborn, startled by their new ability to move freely through space, subject to a gravity unknown before birth? Cozy Cocoons helps the newborn gain orientation in the world by imitating the closeness of the womb, providing comfort, containment and security, all vital elements for growing confident and compassionate little people!
Q: Tell me more about a Cozy Cocoon?
A: More than just a product, the Cozy Cocoon® is an idea, which is that by swaddling our newborns with comfort and beauty, we encourage healthy development of the senses and we nurture the child’s adjustment out of the womb and into the world. By this means, Cozy Cocoon® supports parents in building a strong foundation for the child’s developing sense of self in the world. When babies are tucked into the Cozy Cocoon® there is no jerking, startling movement, and no skin-irritating synthetic fabrics to startle them out of their dreamy reverie and into the rollicking world. The softly-colored, natural & organic fabric into which baby is completely tucked and held, is the most natural progression from out of the womb and into the arms of the caregiver. The idea of the Cozy Cocoon rests on the wisdom of ancient and indigenous cultures that finds a unique expression in our own time, not based on replication of old ideas, but by recognizing that in our modern times we need modern solutions to the most basic and beautiful of life’s experiences ~ bringing new life into the world.
Q: How do you get the baby inside?
A: Simplicity and harmony of design make Cozy Cocoon® the easiest choice for swaddling baby. You simply slip it on like a sock! It's stretchy cozy cotton, so… you roll or scrunch it up in your hands, just like a sock. Start at the feet of your baby and roll and stretch it up over its legs and the body, just like a sock. Gently tuck the hands inside, carefully folding them over the chest. Now, stretch it up to the neck. Viola! Your baby is instantly tucked, held and swaddled. It's that simple!
Q: Why should I swaddle my newborn?
A: Studies have shown the first 40 days of new life are the most important for keeping baby close and swaddled. The benefits will last a lifetime.

Designer, artist, entrepreneur Patricia DeLisa creates beautiful, yet practical products for new and expectant parents to enhance the joys and challenges of welcoming the newborn. Her premiere product, the Cozy Cocoon, carries the wisdom of ancient and indigenous people into modern times with its emphasis on the strong and caring foundation parents and caregivers provide children through holding and swaddling.
Patricia's talents and life experiences are wonderfully evident in the sense of whimsy, beauty and delight found in each of her products, products that celebrate the riches of childhood; that precious time when life is filled with magic and adventure.
Patricia's own adventures began as the third child of a large midwest family (eight, eventually) where her grandfather's stories and her oldest brother's trail of secret missions kept the wonder and mystery of childhood alive. After art school at the University of Michigan and the trials of adolescence, Patricia pursued her dream of living in New York City, and at the age 21, she began a career in modeling. The modeling gave way to design, which eventually led her back to school at the Fashion Institute of Technology. From there it was off to a 7th Avenue design studio. All the while Patricia continued her passionate enthusiasm for artistic expression and the re-creation of childhood wonder through photography, painting, illustration, and graphic design. She now makes her home on New York's Long Island with her husband and their three magical and adventurous children!
