 HATCH was founded by Michele Wong and Paige Akabane. These entrepreneurial moms came together by sharing their past work experiences from the Eldercare and Biotech industries respectively. Their strong foundation combines the multi-tasking talents learned from balancing the endless schedules and needs of their kids and careers. The company's products reflect a unique blend of Michele and Paige's experiences in being moms, spouses, career women and nurturers. Their goal as co-founders is to produce meaningful, quality products with an emphasis on independence and assisted learning.
Michele Wong, Co-Founder Michele graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco. Michele has 14 years of clinical experience working in physical therapy/geriatric rehabilitation. She also served as a facility Coordinator of Clinical Education, and Inservice Manager. In addition Michele was an instructor at Sacramento City College, Department of Allied Health and previously owned and managed a residential care facility for the elderly. Michele is married and is very active in the community with her 3 young children. She also continues to volunteer in various outreach programs for the elderly and disabled. Michele's interests include cooking, baking, and overseas travel.
Paige Akabane, Co-Founder Paige graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese studies with an emphasis in Business from the University of the Pacific. Paige has 13 years of experience in the Biotech and Pharmaceutical Industry. Her range of responsibilities included positions in Specialty Sales, Sales Management, Training and Consulting. Prior to working in the pharmaceutical sector, Paige was co-founder and President of a specialty design and screen-printing business.
