ITZBEEN™ Baby Care Timer was invented by a new mom and dad who found themselves sleep-deprived and needing help to remember baby care details, such as when their baby last ate or napped. They tried charts and journals, but thought there had to be a better way. So, they invented the ITZBEEN™: a multi-purpose nursery tool that helps new parents remember the basic details of baby care. The ITZBEEN™ has four timers that count up with the touch of a button, and a host of other helpful features, all designed with the needs of a new parent in mind.

I use it to know how long I have pumped and how long it's been since I pumped last. The Itzbeen was launched in late 2006 by husband and wife team: Greg and Kris Sheldon. The idea came about two years earlier when they were both sharing care for their son Will. In the sleepless, new-baby brain-fog, they were constantly asking each other questions like: ‘How long has it been since you changed his diaper?’, ‘when did you give him a bottle?’, ‘how long ago did you give him his medication?’, or ‘how long has he been down for a nap?’… and the notion of the Itzbeen (it’s been) was born.
The concept of the Itzbeen started as a simple computer program. After several successful months of use, and not finding any product like it, they decided to start their own company, Coast Innovations, and take it to market themselves. Their product hit the shelves in January 2007, and has become a 5-star favorite amongst parents in over 25 countries around the world.
Today, Kris works two days a week as a registered nurse, Greg works the other three as an engineer, and together they both run the Itzbeen operation. Best of all is that they have tons of free time to be home with their son.
