C-Panty began in 2004 after its founder’s, Catherine Brooks, unexpected Cesarean delivery. A rehabilitation specialist married to a surgeon, Catherine and her husband were both amazed that the post-surgical care of C-section moms consisted of mesh panties and tummy binders, neither which addressed the unique needs of a C-section. Considering both post-partum and post-surgical factors, with their combined medical knowledge and personal experience, the impetus for C-Panty was born. It took over two years of patent filing, mom-market research and prioritizing the clinical and comfort goals of C-Panty to develop the product. C-Panty’s signature line came to market in 2007.

Along with the medical concerns identified by the founders such as controlling swelling, addressing scarring and promoting comfort based on anatomy, concerns of moms were also addressed. The graphics and mood of the product was chosen to be empowering and savvy for those Cesarean moms that found themselves on the surprise end of scalpel in order to promote a feeling of control and inspire moms that they can have a role in their post-op care and comfort.

Now widely available, C-moms can realize for themselves that there is something out there with strong medical rationale as well as input from a host of C-moms that can help to take them from surgical delivery to recovery.
