The idea for the bottle bibs came to me right after the birth of my second son. I was feeding him and put the bottle down on my end table to burp him. As usual, his bib and onesie were quickly becoming soaked and I was really frustrated for him and for myself. I reached over to pick the bottle back up to continue feeding and noticed my ‘so 90’s’ hair scrunchie lying next to it on the same table. I remember thinking what would happen if I were to slip it around the bottle neck to help with his constant dribble and the leakage of the baby bottle. I decided to humor my thought and grabbed the scrunchie, slipped it over and positioned it around the bottle neck and started feeding again. Right away the velour fabric from the scrunchie soaked up most of the leakage from the bottle and absorbed the milk coming out of his mouth when I held it just below his bottom lip.

The next day, I got behind my sewing machine and made up my own version with much more absorbent fabric and decided to add three panels that extended from the collar to absorb dribble directly from my baby’s mouth--sort of like 3 mini bibs. I used my friends and family members who had recently had babies as our test audience. They all loved it and found it to be ingenious and very useful!
